It was an uneventful afternoon when Courtney and a friend decided that the best post-workout activity would be a trip to a bar to hear live music. They left the gym and headed to the Briar Patch in Amherst, Virginia. Coincidentally, Courtney’s friend recognized an old friend of hers and called him over to the table. All it took was a brief introduction between Courtney and this fella, and they were hooked. On each other.
Soon after this encounter, Shane asked Courtney if she wanted to join him for a night out on the town. His band was playing at a private party, and seeing how it also happened to be Valentine’s Day, Shane knew he had to have Courtney by his side. And by his side she was. She accompanied him to an after party at his house and took a tour of the place…all the way down to the basement where Shane had a surprise for Courtney. There, after an evening filled with laughter and good times, Shane and Courtney had their first kiss. They both knew they had found something special. They decided to meet for breakfast the following morning, followed by a NASCAR party on a farm. From that day forward, they have been inseparable. And let’s be honest…a beautiful woman who appreciates live music, beer, and NASCAR. I’m pretty sure Shane has hit the jackpot!
In February of this year, Courtney was on pins and needles. She was soooo excited! it was their 4 year anniversary, and she just knew that Shane was going to use the special time to propose. That would make sense, right?!?! Yeah? Well…nope. Their anniversary came and went without event… much to Courtney’s dismay, may I add. Soon after, they spent Valentine’s Day together. Based on the uneventful anniversary, Courtney expected more of the same on Valentine’s Day. They shared their favorite meal together at the house…steak, potato, and brocolli, and proceeded to enjoy an evening in. After dinner and in her sweats, Courtney sat at the kitchen table making a grocery list. And she couldn’t forget the beer. In the middle of scribbling “Budweiser” on her piece of paper, she caught a glimpse of Shane moving around her. She turned towards him as he simultaneously knelt on one knee, held out a ring, and said, “Here I go! Will you marry me?” In the midst of her surprise, she somehow answered his long-awaited question with a resounding, “YES!”
Courtney and Shane,
Thank you so much for inviting me out to the farm for your engagement session! What a beautiful location, and the fact that it has sentimental value to the two of you is just icing on the cake. Your fun, kind spirits made me job a breeze… and you also looked FANTASTIC! I hope you love the end results just as much as I do. I’m looking forward to your November wedding! See you soon! M 🙂
Courtney is alllll about horses and is an instructor at Grovespring Farm. This place is stunning! Check it out…. Oh! And let me go ahead and say… I’m in LOVE with their outfits. I may or may not be planning to steal Courtney’s dress.
Another one of my favorites. I especially love the way Shane is looking at her. I think he knows he is a lucky man…
You guys! LOVE!
The sunset on the farm was amazing. I am always a fan of the “golden hour.”
This horse is Courtney’s. And he was a tad bit jealous of all the smooching going on between Courtney and Shane. It was tough to find a few shots that he wasn’t trying to break up all that PDA.
Here, I think he is pretending that kiss is just. not. happening.
A big thank you to Grovespring Farm for letting us run wild… and climb all over… around the farm. Thank you, thank you!
Next time, we are getting IN the canoes, you two. 🙂
Some more of my favorites, especially the one on the left. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it that my client’s do all the crazy things I ask. Natural, romantic, images like this one is exactly WHY I ask you to humor me. It TOOOOOTALLY pays off.
Shane & Courtney
Happy Friday, friends!
